WNR June 29th

Postby Sheila » 18 Jun 2011, 11:05

Hi all. I'm calling my first WNR. Scary, I know. I need to get an idea, though, of who might want to come and what time. It will start at my house up by Kings Island. We will ride for about a half hour, stop at Putter's for dinner (bike night) and then ride out in the country for about an hour. It will be a long evening for a Wednesday, but I had a hard time getting it any shorter. I think I found a really good path that covers Mcmansions by a golf course, past the old powder factory in Kings Mills (with a very sharp turn), some former Homerama homes, quick trip through South Lebanon, then throughout the rural curvy roads of Warren County.

If we are not babysitting then we will definitely be there. Unfortunately we won't know our daughters work schedule until a few days before. Thanks for calling a ride, Sheila. I like the Warren county area, I've ridden up there myself on occasion.

Hi Sheila,
Is this ride still a go?

If so, which Putters will you be going to eat at? I have a co-worker from Luxembourg who likes to ride and someone is loaning his a bike (I think it is a smaller motorcycle but we don't know what it is). Anyway, he wants to ride and I think he would enjoy meeting some scooter folks. Not sure we could make it to your house in time but we could catch up with you at Putters. We will be coming from Oxford so we will be ready for a break when we get there!

Roger and Karen Daniels would like to join in. This would be our first ride. We each have our own Buddy 150. How do I get Sheila's address? What time do we meet there?

Well, I was ready to cancel because I didn't think anyone could make it. Does this weekend work for anyone? My address is 7800 Strawberry Hill Lane, Maineville.

I had originally planned to meet at 5:30 at my house, only because we are going to be pressed for time. I was planning to be at the Putter's in maineville at 6pm, eat for an hour, then ride for another hour or so. let me know what you think.

If it moves to the weekend, I vote for Sunday, but majority rules ..

Saturday or Sunday works for me. But I agree with Sarah, Sunday would probably better suit most, with some working on Saturdays? Keep us posted. Anytime after 12noon works for me.

Karen and I have a wedding reception to attend on Sunday, down in Georgetown, KY but Saturday works for us. But.... Like Sarah said.... majority rules. I am standing by!

Carlo is supposed to get a bike tonight. If that works out like it should we will be riding tomorrow night after work. It would be great to hook up with a group of you to ride. I am sure Carlo would like to meet more people than just the folks he has to work with. He will be here for 2 weeks. He is Italian but living and working in Luxembourg for Miami University. He speaks fluent English. That is about all I know about him, oh and he rides motorcycles and scooters!

So, Sheila, let me know if you are going to lead this ride. If not, anyone want to meet up someplace for dinner and a ride? I cannot ride on Sunday but Saturday may work. I don't know about Carlo.

OK, let's cancel for Wednesday. I'll check weather and we'll make it either Saturday or Sunday.
