WKRP 2010

Postby Sara S » 16 Nov 2009, 20:08

Does anyone know when WKRP is going to be in 2010 - Easter is the first weekend in April so I wasn't sure if that would deter it being scheduled that weekend?

Makes sense that it would be April 9th .

Doc,

I'm not sure when RITH is scheduled - as soon as we have a date locked down we'll spread the word.

Hey, just a reminder to everyone to pre-register for the WKRP Rally, if you haven't already done so, before 3/1. This will guarantee your shirt size and the admission is $20 if you pre-register by that date, otherwise it goes up to $30. I finally remembered and just done it today so I'm set to go. :)

Here is the direct link to register:

Me, neither...I just read the Registration page and it doesn't say anything about paying if you just want to hang out and do the Ride (no breakfast, dinner or Rally stuff).

I thought about not registering too and just going along for the ride, etc. But I thought I'd go ahead and pay this year and see how it goes. Plus I actually like the design this year, as opposed to the last couple of years. I assume you'll be able to fully participate whether you register or not. That reminds me, I need to order my scootercincinnati sticker before the rally.

Guess you are supposed to register. May be smart to wait and do it Friday night if you have schedule concerns or don't want to bet that it won't be freezing rain all weekend. I can live without another Tee shirt.

This was lifted from elsewhere.

(Brian) I am posting to clear up some misconceptions about this year's WKRP. There is some discussion on the scootercincinnati.com site and elsewhere on whether or not to register and what registering is for (I have signed up to post on that site and am awaiting confirmation).

To clarify: You MUST be registered to attend ALL rally events - this includes the ride(s), all meals, etc. Participants will sign the usual waiver, there will be a "tagging" system in place and it will be enforced. In past years, this system has been applied to certain rally events but now will apply as a blanket.

Registration is up at http://xylsc.com/wkrp
The rally ride was not listed as an official event on the site, this will be corrected....someday....i hope
More info will be posted up on the rally site as plans gel.

This is not because we are hard-asses or are trying to exclude anyone, we welcome any and all to WKRP. We do all this work every year because we truly love scooters and scooterists.

Pre-registration gives us rally planners a precise idea of how many people to expect and allows us to plan for everything accordingly - swag, food, refreshments, ride distance and pace, even the parking. Last year, there were large numbers of last-minute attendees, which caused several problems that not only made for less fun but created some real safety concerns.

Over the years the XYL's have donated thousands of dollars from rally proceeds to local charities and community groups. We have been able to do this thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and raffle ticket buyers.

The XYL's look forward to seeing everyone at WKRP this year!

DocBobMOSC again... should be fun and a good start to the riding season. See you there
