New Forum Look - August 2009

New postby Bonegirl on 31 Aug 2009, 11:32

I haven't had the opportunity to get on the Forum until just now. I think phpBB has changed our Forum without us knowing anything about it. :x P200Kevin is the site Administrator and we spoke about it. I know he has been paying for the site out of his own pocket the last couple years. This change in the Forum may be due to the high volume of users we have on here; phpBB may have decided we need to pay more or deal with a cheaper look with ads. Kevin will look into it when he has time.

I am more than willing to spend a little money on this site if it gets us back to where we were before. I am sure there are many others on this Forum willing to do that as well. So hopefully we can get back to the setup we had in the past.

I can't even find our Calendar any longer. Grrrrrrrr!

I would be more than happy to contribute to help keep this an easy to use, full-featured site.

Since you are all are being so generous, I guess I don't have to offer to contribute. I kid, I kid. I'd be glad to help out. Out of curiousity, how much does it cost to run a site like this (the old one we had)?

Well, if Kevin is paying for it out of his own pocket ..... it must have been pocket change! kidding!

Looks like we've changed again. To be honest, I'm not crazy about this look. It's too dark for me. A little too close to the 'other' forum, too. A lighter background maybe?

Thanks for all of your work on this, Kevin and Angie.

I ditto that. Didin't know what to think when I saw it . The format does appear to keep changing for whatever reason. I do hope too that it doesn't stay this dark. I'm sure we will get it worked out soon. But I also vote to do what it takes to get back to normal and willing to contribute. Also thanks to Angie and Kevin for the work they have been doing on this. :)

It looks like (at this point at least) the board has 2 different skins. If you go to your "user profile > board preferences > board style" you can change it back to what it was yesterday (silver something)
