Ok, what has happened to this 2nd Saturday of the month ride thing? I will try to get this thing started again.

I know it's early, but I'm calling for a ride out in Indiana; Brookville, Metamora, Batesville, Lawrenceburg.

Ok, the meeting point will be at Speedway 11620 Hamilton Ave. north of I-275.
Meet between 1pm and 1:30pm. The ride will start shortly after.
We will ride through Brookville, Metamora, Oldenburg, Batesville, & stop for dinner in Lawrenceburg at Whiskies. Anyone know of any good stopping points along the way, let me know.
After Whiskies, the ride will continue to Northside.

Meeting place

New postby Bonegirl on 11 Aug 2009, 09:34

I think you could meet at Auto Zone on Hamilton Avenue south of Galbraith (N. College Hill). We have done this in the past.

You can get to Harrison Avenue from several different roads near here. Harrison Avenue takes you into Harrison and you can go Route 52 or other ways.

Not knowing you're plan makes it a little harder to choose a meet-up spot but Auto Zone is far enough Northwest to start the group heading in the right direction.

this sounds good Mike. I'm in. Thanks for getting it going. As far as a Indiana route, I also have a route to Madison, IN from my Women on Wheel's group to offer if you or anyone would be up for that? Just a Indiana suggestion to throw out but anywhere is fine with me. Indiana has some nice roads.

I can't believe you said this, Deb. A girl at work came in this morning and said she has a great ride for us to Madison! I have been there several times when I used to line dance. We would stay a weekend at Clifty Falls. One of these days we may have to do a ride out there for sure. Clifty Falls has cabins and we could make it a 2-day trip.

I'm not sure yet what we have going on for the weekend of September 12th but I hope we will be able to make your ride, Mike.

September and October are big Camping/Bicycling months for us and it's usually booked up quickly.

that sounds good. Clifty Falls is very nice. I have been there once before many years ago. Great place to camp. Madison, IN would be a little bit longer route than Metamora, Brookville, etc. but we have done it in one day leaving from the Ameristop in Lawrenceburg. It's a nice route about 50 miles from Lawrenceburg. Wouldn't be too bad for a Sat ride, but Mike's call. Deb

Yea, I don't want to step on anyone's toes after they have already called a ride. And Mike usually plans a long trip anyways. So Madison should be another trip, another time. Keep the directions handy, Deb! 8)

Is 555 Ohio's version of Deal's Gap/Tail of the Dragon in NC?

Rt.555. It runs from South Zanesville to Little Hocking,Oh. It is one of the top rated motorcycle ( scooter ) roads in the eastern U.S. I hear its a great ride from other scooter sights (Easy Peasey)! I'm not sure if its anything like Deal's Gap!?

Ang, My route will be around 100 miles depending where we start and not adding the miles everyone needs to get to and from there home.

I can say we will be heading across 126/252 into Brookville.

Of course, I'm up for the Madison IN route too.

Heck, we have a month to get this ride together. 8)

Mike, let's leave Madison out for now. Me and a girl at work have been discussing a route the last week or so and it was coincidental Deb brought it up. I am thinking a possible sleep-over down there and some stops along the way at some wineries. So if it's all the same to you, let's leave out Madison for now. There is so much to see and do in Metamora and surrounding areas I'd hate folks to miss something if you are hurrying to get from Point A to Point B. Thank you!
