Camping Reservations for Twist n' Gone

Postby Bonegirl » 31 Mar 2011, 17:50

I made our camping reservations today for Twist n' Gone, Friday, May 13th and Saturday, May 14th.

Even if you don't race it is a fun weekend to ride and a huge Party on Saturday night. This is a good opportunity to go check out the Dragway that is used all year for the Drag Races. You can meet all the people who race, who sponsor the race and how to just learn the ropes. I won't race this weekend but I will certainly be partying and riding my scooter a lot.

The Campground has cute little cabins you can also rent if you don't want to camp in a tent.

Re: Twist n' Gone & NASRA Race Schedule 2011

Postby burgman2170 » 06 Apr 2011, 10:50

I have bought some scooter parts from Scootertronics out of Maryland a few months back and got to know the owner fairly well. Michael Milstead is a fan of scooter racing and enters many events during the year. From what I undersand the race at Mid Ohio twice a year with 50 cc scooters only. The scooters are modified meaning there really isn't many stock parts on the scooters so they can move a little faster. Sounds interesting but by the look at some of their vids it can be dangerous. One slip and down you go. The twist n gone sounds much better with little if any contact.

After Party Bands are ready to rock.

Postby Bonegirl » 26 Apr 2011, 19:58

We have our campground reservations for Twist n' Gone and the whole weekend (Friday and Saturday) is going to be a blast. If the rain and cold stays away, I am sure a thousand times better than last year (and we had a major blast last year!).

Surprised no one else has signed up to go. Jeremy just sent me the entertainment schedule and it will be a fun time Saturday Night at the Campground!

Deezen

By Thee Almighty Rev. Dan

Deezen (the Twist and Gone! Afterparty Headliner) was founded by Thee Almighty Rev. Dan and Thee Good Reverend Dr. Doomtone in 2000 after discussing their love for B-Movie Actor Eddie Deezen. They went on to joke around and come up with parts of songs based on Eddie Deezen. They never did anything serious with this band idea and later went on a hiatus.

Reforming with a revolving door of musicians in 2006, it didn’t seem like anything was ever going to come out of it until it happened. They got Mr. Darwin Layne from Rocket From The Tombs to be the official bass player. Then came Ms. Cupcake on drums who added a fresh breath to the band. And then there was Eddie “Home Run” Rippy joined in on the organ. The lineup is now complete.

With the official blessing from our icon, Eddie Deezen,we are now setting out to overtake the Indianapolis music scene and soon the WORLD! Alright, I’ll be content with the Midwest.

Crossbones Inc

Crossbones Inc. (We’re your new having intercourse favorite band!) are known far and wide as the band from Lexington Kentucky who mixes the intensity of the 80′s hardcore punk scene with the catchy sensibilities of early punk bands like The Ramones and The Sex Pistols. Join that with a few beers, scooters, good friends, and the usual brand of debauchery and you know your in for a good time.

From their bio:

“Our songs are fast and intense with choruses that will have you pumping your fist and shouting along. With song lyrics that address every facet of every day life from working a shitty job to political frustrations and horror movie escapism, there’s something for every punk fan at a Crossbones Inc show.”
