The Western Swing

Unread postby Papa Johns » 13 Aug 2010, 23:05

I took off for the Western states of Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. It was gone 30 days and attended the Sound Rider Rally in Stevenson Washington July 28-August 1 2010. We inherited a Mazda MPV from a dear Aunt so I put a trailer hitch on it so I could save expense of hauling with the Truck. so with the Silver wing In my trailer I traveled alone to the West crossing the great Plains and Over the Rocky Mountains along Interstate 80. Truthfully I dislike so much Traveling alone but after 30 hours of driving I arrive In West Valley Utah at My twin Sisters home. My Twin is a gem and if twins have a special bond it would be found in us. she really enjoys my company and we spent time each day Hanging out. I also Rode the Silver wing when I arrived and traveled into the mountains Climbing every stream to the end of the road or summit. after a week in Utah I traveled to Idaho City, Idaho in the Northern Rockies and repeated my experience, I then traveled to the Willamette Valley, Cascades and the Oregon Coast. The Sound Rider Rally in the Columbia River gorge was next and I can recommend it as the finest of motorcycle Rally's. They are so well organized and have a full agenda of seminars, Rolling Clinics and rides to magnificent Places so If you have a bit of time just follow along. :D

Mike, How great is our God! Your pictures are so beautiful. I love the western side of our country and hope to get Ben out there one day. Thanks you so much for sharing...but I will avoid Antelope Island like the plague!

Really great pictures--doubly so, since when Melanie and I were out there very early this spring, both Mt. St. Helen's and Mt. Rainier were obscured by clouds. So thanks much for the pics of what we couldn't see!
