Cool, I'm hoping I can make it this year. And I didn't know it was near Spring Valley - there's a really nice outdoor shooting range there. Might be fun to bring some firearms and do little shootin' between rollin' in the hay :)

Hi kshultz,
I'm Jason X and the VP of the Rollers. I've had the same thought and am quietly making plans for an "unofficial" ride on Saturday morning. Many details to work out!

It would be a very short ride down the street, followed by an hour or two break to do "whatever", then a ride back to camp for the big group ride around 11. The major delema is if it is wise to encourage both massive drinking (5K+ describes the number of kegs on hand) and the possession of certain equipment needed for the morning ride. Alcohol and "equipment" don't mix!

Raffle Prizes

Postby Bonegirl » 07 Jun 2010, 23:22

I heard they need some Raffle Prizes for the Rally. If anyone has something cool to donate to the Gem City Rollers, I am sure they would greatly appreciate it.

Maybe you won something you can't use...pass it on! Maybe someone gave you something you stuck in a corner...let someone else take up corner space in their house! I bet some of us can come up with something they could use. I may go Raffle Shopping just to see what could be a nice, fun prize.

The Rollers thank you in advance!

After giving it a lot of thought and talking with people whose opinions I respect, I have decided not to lead or facilitate any "unofficial" ride on Saturday. To encourage people to bring firearms to an event like RITH is unwise on many levels. As fun as a scoot-and-shoot ride would be, the rally is just not the setting for it. Please spread the word to anyone who was interested: NO RIDE TO THE RANGE. Leave the "equipment" at home.
Sorry to disappoint,

Good call, Jason. It would be a lot of fun, but the 'mixed' agenda does present a bit of quandary. Best to keep things simple.

Bacon may not be out of the question...where there's electric, there is the possibility of bacon!

What time do you get out of work Friday?
Do you have a tent?

Roll Call

Postby Bonegirl » 10 Aug 2010, 13:32

Haven't seen much response to this Rally. It is my favorite Rally of the year and I'll be heading up Friday, which I believe to be the most fun night of the weekend! :P

Friday night has no pressure to be anywhere at a certain time and always so good to hang with friends from other places that you don't normally see. Lots of hustle and bustle Saturday, lots more people, lots of activities and not as much freedom to just sit and chill. And you can't beat the price for the entire weekend. :D

Can't wait!
