Rolly's 2nd Scooter.

:D G'day Folks.2 weeks ago,I went to Sydney(2.5 hours north)to look at an 08 Honda Lead 100cc scooter, with the idea of buying it strictly as a utility vehicle.Turned out to be an awesome little tacker,no damage, and only 1000 miles on the clock.I had a test ride in the underground carpark, and decided to buy it and ride it home.I took my 20 year old son with me so he could drive my car home.It took about an hour heading south(home) to get out of the city, the little scooter running strong, and then it happened. The Mother of all storms hit.As I pulled into the gas station to suit up,my car with number 1 son behind the wheel went gliding by.So much for my back-up vehicle.I didn't need him anyway. It was without a doubt, one of the scariest rides I've had.Windy, rain hammering down, and me flying along the expressway at between 35 and 45 mph.All up ,it took 4 hours to get home, the scooter used 1 gallon (4.5liters) to ride 110 miles. Not a bad effort considering it had never been ridden at night or in the rain, and no further than the coffee shop 4 miles away.Don't laugh, but I've added a set of highway pegs to get my long, skinny legs out from under my chin. It's now very comfy, and looks cool too.I've made some brackets and mounted a couple of LED driving lights,as I leave home at 4.30am every day.Lots of wildlife out my way, kangaroo's,wombats, foxes,so better lights are a must.Cheers for now,Happy Easter to All. :D Rolly.

Congrats on the new scoot! Too bad about the storms but "That which dosen't kill us..."

I think the Honda Lead is the same as what they call the Elite 110 over here.

Hi, Rolly! Glad you and the new scoot made it home safely. 4 hours in a hammering rain is not the most enjoyable first ride, eh?

You will now be able to have even more fun on it because you know it will run in the worst conditions!

Congratulations of this purchase!

:D G'day Folks. An update on the little scoot. The highway pegs have made the little scoot really comfy now.The LED driving lights are just Awesome. It's using 3 to 4 liters a week, depending on the running around I do.The last 3 days have been really windy,so both scoots are tucked in up in the shed.Just not worth saving fuel to end a hood ornament on a truck,or get blown into the river,so the car is getting a little use.Apart from the wind,I love little scoot, and enjoy the 10 mile ride to work and back everyday. The Wing comes out at the end of the month for a ride to Mudgee, about 250 miles inland.Very cold there now,and snow is quite possible.I'll write it up when I return.Cheers till then,Rolly. :D 8) :)
