Roll in the Hay: Who wants to ride up Friday?

Unread postby apsman » 19 Aug 2008, 11:53

So I see everyone making post in every other thread and we did not yet have a centralized thread for Roll in the Hay!

Here is the website: http://rollinthehay.weebly.com/index.html

There are a few questions that have been asked! The main one is "When is everyone leaving to go up to Dayton?"

My answer is I get off at 3pm on Friday and I will be heading up after that!

The Directions are on the following webpage (as stated by Gem City Rollers the dates are wrong but directions are fine)...
http://gemcityrollersscooterclub.com/ro ... 045068.htm

As the directions state the best route is up Reading Road! So lets say we meet up at 5pm @ McDonalds in Reading
(@ Reading and Benson 8908 READING RD, READING, OH 45215)

Let me know if place and time works for everyone! We will leave NO LATER than 5:15 so if you want to get food and drink at McD's arrive earlier than 5pm

Second Question was is anyone able to carry my stuff up in a truck!

The answer is yes there are people who are taking up trucks/trailers. I will not volunteer anyone for this so you will have to ask them if they are inclined to help you out! We are all scooter family and I am sure someone will help you!

Third, How much does it cost

1) $30 the whole weekend
2) $15 if you can only make Saturday ride (thanks ScooterDave I know you had a hand in pushing for this)
3) Gas, Food/Drink at ride stops, and any souvenirs

Price includes some food, drinks, and the campground!

As this is my first rally I am not sure what to expect besides a freaking awesome time! Hope to see yall there!

I'll have some room in my truck if someone would like their stuff hauled up and back. You would have to get your stuff to me before Thursday at 8:00pm (at my house) and pick it up here afterward.

When you arrive.

Or thereabouts...

How many are scootering up their

I don't know. I would expect more than a dozen from Cincinnati and probably close to a hundred total.

If I go who do I give my money too

The Gem City Rollers will most likely have a registration table set up in the pavillion area of the campground.

Here is a C&P from the rally website...

[hr]----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

August 22-24 2008: Dayton's own Gem City Rollers are back for another installment of the Roll in the Hay. This year the Roll in the Hay (RitH) promises to be an event not to be missed. For those of you who haven't been fortunate enough to make it to a Roll, RitH is a camping rally that is held in Spring Valley Ohio on the grounds of Blackberry Cove Farms just outside of Dayton, Ohio. This year, The Rollers have worked hard to bring you a jam-packed weekend of scooter festivities, to include karaoke, great food, amazing country riding, bonfires, awards, the Peckin' GP, -- all the mayhem you've come to expect from Gem City and the Roll in the Hay, and much much more. I'm also proud to announce this year's Roll will be at a new lower price of $30 per head for the weekend!

Some of what is covered by your $30 admission fee:

Camping all weekend Pizza dinner Friday Coffee in the mornings Breakfast Saturday Dinner Saturday Rally pack which includes a RitH t-shirt, patch, and a free raffle ticket for the raffle Saturday night.
Check back here often in the coming days, we will be updating info frequently. Be sure to check out the sponsor page because without them the RitH would NOT be possible.

The Rally will be held at:
BLACKBERRY COVE CAMPGROUND
3501 Cornstalk Rd., Spring Valley, Ohio 45370

NO GLASS BOTTLES ARE ALLOWED AT THE SITE!!!!
NO EXCEPTIONS!

There will definately be a registration table set up - we'll need everyone participating to stop in and pay, get their "stuff", and get banded.

Looking forward to seeing everyone ....

Sara S

ps. yes, this is a weekend long event - kicking off around 4pm Friday and ending around 12pm on Sunday afternoon :)
