Rabbit Hash Ride - Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Postby Bonegirl » 13 Aug 2010, 22:31

Hello, there!

For those of you who have an Iron Butt, I am leading another ride to Rabbit Hash on Sunday, August 29th, 2010.
I would like some of you to attend the Hero's Ride on the 28th and anyone who is tough enough can go to Rabbit Hash on the 29th.

I would like to leave Burger King on Colerain Avenue (Route-27) north of I-275 at 10am or you can meet us at the UDF across the street from Anderson Ferry (River Road/Route 50 East) around 11pm. We'll head to Rabbit Hash through Kentucky and head home through Indiana.

As long as I don't have any scooter troubles, I'm planning to make this one. I think I better get me a new scooter belt ordered, pronto!

Earlier?????

Postby Bonegirl » 14 Aug 2010, 09:55

It gets really crowded down there so I was wondering if we could leave earlier in the morning?

Me and Sarah met at the Ferry at 11:00am and got down to Rabbit Hash around Noon. It takes a couple hours to get to Rabbit Hash from Burger King so I don't want to get leave too late. Those who want to stop in Lawrenceburg on the way home and eat at Buffalo's could do that and anyone else that needs to get home can keep going.

So would you all still be able to come if we meet at Burger King at 10:00am or some of you may find it easier to meet us down at the Ferry at 11am?

I'll be in Indianapolis at MotoGP that weekend. Once again, I'm gonna miss a good group ride.

Angie,

I just found your Rabbit Hash info for the ride Sunday. If I don't go to Cleveland to visit my daughter and grandchildren, I will plan to be there.

How many hours are we talking about? I don't know if my butt is made of iron yet, but it still sounds like fun. We are not going on any highways, are we? I will print out your directions and keep them for Sunday.

Directions? We don't need no stinking directions! 2 hour ride from Burger King to Rabbit Hash. We'll stop at UDF for awhile before crossing the River.
Rabbit Hash will be an hour ride from the Ferry.

Figure on 1-2 hours at the Hash to eat lunch, check out the sites or whatever folks want to do. The Winery opens at 1pm on Sundays at The Hash and several people may want to check that out.

Then we head back home through Indiana so another hour on the saddle with a break once we cross the River. We can stop at Markland Dam if folks would like to check it out. It would be nice to stop at Buffalo's Southwestern Grille in Lawrenceburg for dinner if people snack at Rabbit Hash and want real food later on.

This is going to be a casual fun day with no hurries and no worries. I don't have a set schedule in mind because I don't need to be anywhere until Monday morning! So the plan is to ride down to Rabbit Hash through Kentucky and back home through Indiana. We can stay as long or as little as you like. I plan on being home before dark, preferably before 6pm.

Let me know if this works for everyone and we'll proceed as planned.

Hopefully I'll be able to attend this; know more as the weekend gets closer. I'll meet you at the UDF at 11 AM as I'll be coming from the east side.

In the last two weeks, I've put about 250 miles on the CH150D so I have some confidence in it's potential reliability, regardless of how it looks.

I'll be coming from the Miami Township/Milford area. My plan was to go in via US-50. With only 150cc, I like to stay on surface roads; top speed of 55 MPH means no interstate travel for me.
