I will be off line between now and the ride tomorrow so if anything changes, can you give me a call on my cell? See everyone riding tomorrow! Looks like the weather will be great even it a bit warm.

Last Call

Unread postby Bonegirl » 28 Aug 2010, 21:06

The ride is scheduled as planned. Leaving Burger King on Colerain Avenue at 10am. I have a 1-hour scenic ride to Anderson Ferry so we should be there close to 11am.

The UDF at River Road and Anderson Ferry is large and has gas if anyone needs gas. (42 miles from Burger King to Rabbit Hash).

There is no gas station at Rabbit Hash or anywhere else past Rabbit Hash for quite some time so I suggest you fill up at UDF if you have a small gas tank. When we leave Rabbit Hash, we will head towards Markland Dam where there is a Shell Station at the end of the bridge on the Indiana side. We will be stopping there, guaranteed!

I am really looking forward to this ride. If everyone shows up that has said, we will have a minimum of 12 bikes. We'll go over some Ground Rules at UDF.

See you in the morning! :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks Angie and Ben for the great ride to Rabitt Hash today. We had a really good time with all the riders and it was good to meet some more of the scooter group. Sorry we had to leave from the Hash to go home. I hope all of you had a good time with the rest of your ride to IN and to dinner.
P.S. We enjoyed the pics everyone posted so far, especially liked the one that Ben took of both David and I as we were waiting for the ferry I think titled "The Burgmans" it was a great pic of us and especially with us together. Thanks again all it was a BLAST Robert and David

Oh look, Burgmans. by benandangie, on Flickr

I'm glad you liked it.

And, as always, if anyone wants the original high res version of a photo, just let me know and I'll try to find it for you. The jpgs I post to Flickr are pretty compressed but a couple months ago I started keeping an unedited .NEF (.raw) version of everything. As an example, the Burgman photo I uploaded was 816k, the .NEF file I have saved is 5.71MB.

My hand is still a little sore this morning; iced it for two or three hours after I got home. Glad I decided to keep the jacket on when leaving UDF.

Other than some minor bent sheet metal and the broken mirror, the scooter seems solid. Not too worried about the scratches and scuffs - I guess it was fortunate I didn't have the rest of the bodywork installed. The mirror looks to be just the mirror - not the mirror and the stalk. I should be able to find a replacement pretty easily.

Otherwise, great ride everybody.

See Randy Smile...

Unread postby Bonegirl » 30 Aug 2010, 23:23

Check my pictures closely: you'll actually see Randy smile through the window at Markland Dam. He's standing with Ben. Must have caught him off guard but it's nice to see you smile, Randy!
