I'm planning on riding in this, rain or shine, but not hail.

Mt. Healthy Fireworks and City Party

Postby Bonegirl » 25 Jun 2010, 11:04

I live in Mt. Healthy and we have a big ol' City Party on Saturday, July 3rd as well. The Fireworks always rock. Everything starts at 5pm and I will be helping at the Food Booth at some point in the evening (the City's Booth). Anyone wanting to hang out with me, grilling wieners and what-not, are welcome to come out and help or hang.

This is just another option if you need a break from the Northside Rock 'n Roll Festival. I just have a thing for Fireworks!

Count me in for the parade ride, assuming dry weather (and no hail).

I assume each of us are subject to the $5 "carbon offset" fee... :?:

Seems a little odd to invite eco-friendl(ier) scooters to ride in the parade, then charge $5 for carbon emission.

We realize that some parade participants have been planning the floats for years. This is a transition year for all of us. We encourage everyone to go car-free this year, but if a vehicle is absolutely necessary, we ask for a $10 per 4-wheeled gas-powered vehicle donation, or a $5 per 2-wheeled gas-powered vehicle or hybrid donation. Your contribution will be used to purchase carbon offsets to help neutralize our carbon footprint.

Maybe they'll only charge you if you turn your scooter ON. It's downhill most of the way so if I just push it will I still have to pay the fee?

Good to know Bob. And I have no problem making a donation if it's by choice. Green is good.
