Mt. Healthy American Legion Fish Fry on Fridays - Let's Eat!

Postby Bonegirl » 09 Nov 2007, 00:25

A ride is a ride is a ride! The American Legion in Mt. Healthy has several fish fries coming up. Since I live in the city, I may as well promote it. It's a very cool place with a lot of friendly folks who get a kick out of us on our scooters.

It's yummy as could be and they are going to have chicken and steak sandwiches starting if fish isn't your bag.

Where: 7947 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy, OH
When: 4:30-7:30pm
Dates: Friday, December 12th, 2008

As long as it's dry, I'll be there on my scooter sometime after 4:30pm.

Hi, Sara!

We talked about it at tonight's ride and decided 5:30 would work for most. The Fish Fry is 4-7PM but we get there, drink, hang out, eat, drink, hang out and drink some more. Or you can just hang out...or you can just drink...or you can just eat. It's all good. You can get a cod dinner for $6 (big ol' fish sandwich, fries, cole slaw and a cupcake) with cheap Legion drinks. Add a hush puppy or two for fifty cents. 3 for $2 on Split The Pot (or whatever they are giving away this week). And they also have shrimp, chicken, free popcorn, etc, etc, etc. And did I mention you can also just come and hang out! Would love to see you guys.

PS Anybody know how to play German 500? I'll bring cards and maybe we'll play at The Legion or back at Deb's.

Hi Ang,

Thanks for the information! Jason and I plan on coming down - but given traffic we might not make it until about 5:45pm-ish. I don't know the game German 500 - but I love card games and I'm willing to learn.

See ya tomorrow!

Well, I am sorry that I missed the fish fry tonight. I was actually on my way there when my car just stopped. Initial assessment is that the timing belt broke but I will know more on Monday. The advantages of living in a small town (although I no longer actually live there) is that the guy who owns the shop where I take my car called a tow truck, tried to get a rental car for me and being unsuccessful at that, he came and picked me up and is letting me use the shop car for the weekend. By the time I finished with all that drama, it was too late to get to the fish fry. :( Maybe next time. Hope everyone had fun.

Jason and I had a really good time tonight - so glad we could tag along - here's hoping we can make our way back down in a couple of weeks for some more fish!

Fish Fry January 25th

Postby Bonegirl » 23 Jan 2008, 11:45

It's that time of month again...no! not that! It's time for the Fish Fry this Friday, January 25th 4-7PM. The Hoxworth Bloodmobile is going to be there and I have a 5PM appointment to give it up...no! not that! I'm talking blood here. But we have to be somewhere else afterwards and we'll miss the Fish Fry. Not sure what your excuse is, but if you don't have one, this is really good and I hope you'll go without us!

I'm already scheduled to give an A negative double red downtown on the 30th, but it's good to hear you're giving blood. Well done.

Seriously, I mean it. Often in here I am speaking with my tongue firmly in cheek, but for once I am serious. I've been giving blood regularly since I was 18, and the last couple of years I have done exclusively double red donations.

If you are healthy and can do it, this is a service to your fellow humans that is beyond value. Lives are saved.

I used to be a regular donor but Hoxworth won't take my blood ........... wish I could still because I know I am eternally grateful to whomever
donated the 2 pints I received last September.............

not sure if we are going to make it to the fish fry or not yet.......
but those crab cakes sure sounded good..........

fish fry

Postby P200Kevin » 24 Jan 2008, 14:49

I also cannot give blood. I have something terribly wrong with me. I think it was something I pickup on in service. They used to jab me with all kinds of needles over the years.

anyway, I would like to be there for the food. Have client coming in from New York. May bring along.

Peace.
