Okay, I know this Indy rally thread is getting a little tired. But I've been meaning to ask for opinions on the hostel. I have my list of pros and cons.

Pros: cost, safety of scooters, common garden/house area to gather and hang out, location and ease to get to downtown and Broad Ripple, availability of kitchen wares and refrigerators, close to liquor store

Cons (aside from the water leak in our room): could've been cheaper for what we got, bunkbed wasn't super comfortable, not as air-conditioned as I'd hoped, not as close to a liquor store as Red Roof Inn

What did you guys think? Would you choose to stay there again? Or was this a "hey, we gave it a shot, let's look elsewhere next time" experience?

I was fine with the gals' room and bunk beds (I am a sound sleeper), but true....perhaps it could've been cheaper for what we got. And no one has come after me for the wine glass I broke.....yet.

Pros: Everything Steve listed. I would add nice breakfast stops nearby.

Cons: (aside from water leak): the shower was quite weak. I thought the price was fair for what we got.

I would stay there again...mainly for the nice yard/gathering areas which was near perfect for our scooters and group.

I was ok w/it. I liked having the frig, a deck and yard to gather outside and then the nice living room area inside to hang too like when it rains,lol. Of course the girls didn't have the leak and air cond problem the first nite like the guys which would have been bad but got better. The liguor store was close enough and I thot the price was reasonable and cheap. The showers were kinda tight/weak and one was out-of-order which hopefully wouldn't happen next time.

My only real "con" was not being used to sleepin in a bunk and with bein on the bottom trying not to knock myself out when I got up, Other than that, I was fine but would also be flexible if the vote was to go somewhere else next year,

Agreed - add that to my Con list.

I thought the place worked well for this event. The deck, kitchen facilities, rooms inside for gathering during the storm, scooter parking. It would be nice if we could all get into the main building next time. Hopefully both showers will be working.
