Impact Wrench West Side?

Unread postby lobsterman » 24 Aug 2010, 16:36

Anybody on the West Side have an impact wrench I can borrow to install the Dr Pulley Sliding Roller Weights I've purchased?

Unfortunately my budget doesn't have any room for purchasing an impact wrench right now, but I'd be willing to trade some computer services in return for the use of the impact wrench. I can fix most anything wrong with a computer.

If somebody who owns a wrench wants to kibitz while I do the work (rather than just loan me the wrench) that would be cool too.

I really want to be able to do these things myself, and the tools will be purchased over time but right now I am short on cash...

Do you have a compressor to run a pneumatic impact wrench? 5 cfm @ 90 PSI.

If Mount Healthy is west, I have a pneumatic impact and compressor you could use.

Anything west of Vine street is west

You would be a better kibitzer too, you actually know how to assemble a variator :)

I have both also and would be happy to let you use them, so it's two wrenches and compressors 3 miles apart :)

Is it time for a scooter variator party? weeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I can be pretty flexible about when/where this gets done, I really appreciate the offers. I've not done this before, so no real idea how long it takes to do. Is this something best done where I borrow the tools and it takes hours, or is it fairly quick and easily done in someone else's driveway?

Seems like as I get older, every time I try to kibitz, I just end up getting all verklempt. :|

Anyhoo, Variator maintenance is a pretty easy and quickish thing to do in my driveway with my service table and awesome set of tools.
On a Buddy without any major mechanical disasters within the CVT, I can probably change rollers/sliders in less than 10 minutes and teach it in less than 20.

If you wouldn't mind riding over to my place I'd be happy to help. Scheduling would most likely be the hardest part. I get home from work by 4:00pm on weekdays and sometimes I'm home during a few daylight hours on the weekends.

Let me know what works for you.

Ben's driveway, service table, & know how is good. He's taught me most of what I know now! 8)

If for some reason you cannot work things out let me know. The impact wrench I have is an electric one and requires no compressor.

Mike, I think you're right, and thanks for your offer.

Ben, I work from home and have nothing scheduled most Tuesday and Thursday afternoons by 4:00. A ride to your driveway sounds like a great idea to me.

Pick a Tue or Thur afternoon and let me know, I'll come to you.

You guys rock, and thank you!

Next Tuesday the 31st works for me. If that's cool, just let me know what time. (Weather permitting of course.)
