Hero's Ride, Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Postby Bonegirl » 13 Aug 2010, 22:26

Dear Friends,

I have done this ride in the past and it is a very well organized event. I have already pre-registered and plan on riding my scooter. If anyone is interested in going with me, please post here. Thanks a ton.

If you're going then count me in as well. I'll go ahead and preregister too. I went and watched the send off last year and it was unbelievable how many bikes were in it. Did you ride last year, I kinda remember seeing a pink scoot among all of the pack??

As long as I don't have any scooter problems and I don't break a leg that morning (I'm participating in the Harley Powder Keg 5K that morning), I should be able to make it.

Bonegirl, am I correct that you can register the day of the ride? This is Sailo,r the guy on the red Burgman that joined you heading to Bright for ice cream about a month ago. Not sure I can go but would like to. It would be a last minute thing (kind of like my life) Sailor

That would be great! Registration can always be done the same day.

If we want to stay together for this ride we need to meet somewhere and ride in together. Otherwise, you ride with whomever you park next to when you get to The Green.

If the ride leaves at 12:30, we need to be there before 11:30.

There is a McDonald's just north of the Green at Route 127 and Nilles. Let's meet there around 11:00am.
Anyone not pre-registered will have time to register and the rest of us can hang out. That way we will be able to stay together, at least for the start of the ride.

I'm all for that but if it matters, the ride leaves at 1:00 with the pre ride meeting at 12:30 so I don't know if you still wanted to meet at 11 or maybe make it 11:30???

Ride leaves at...

My flyer says the meeting is at 12:00 Noon and the ride leaves at 12:30pm. That's why I chose 11am.

According to the web page, Registration ends at 12:15. I know from the past, tons of people show up at the last minute and there may be 50 bikes there at noon trying to Register. Just an FYI. So even though we are pre-registered, we'll be stuck in line with all those people showing up at the last minute. There are a lot of vendors and stuff going on in the morning so we'll stick to 11:00am at McDonald's and can always sign in and hang out an hour.

I'm pre-registered, but I probably won't make it to the 11:00AM meeting since I'm participating in a Harley 5k that morning. I'll get there when I can and will look for everyone. Surely a pink scooter will stand out in the crowd! Deb....I'll probably text you if I can't find you guys. I'm only doing the ride, not the dinner. Gotta get back home to take my youngest to a church back to school party.

We'll be there at 11am at McDonald's. We have a cookout at Gina's sisters so we will just be doing the ride as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!
