Heart Of America Maxi Scooter Rally St. Louis M. june 10-13

Jason S, and I rode the Slab to St. Louis for the Maxi Scooter HAMS Rally.

This was my first Maxi scooter only ride and as you can imagine they focus on going farther afield in the Rally and a a faster Speed. They planned 5 rides and the Two big rides where 220 miles in length. and took all day with stops for food rest and gas. The fist ride was to Washington, Mo. on the Missouri River and in the vicinity of Danial Boone final Home.Washington was famous for making zithers and Ceramic Corn Cob Pipes. it also was a long establish Transportation hub as it had Ferry service across the Missouri river before the 1933 steel bridge was constructed. Cotton and Corn where the Ag. interests Farms where generally small in the hills and large along the bottom next to the river.
The organization was very good as we where made welcome. Travelers came from North Carolina, Apache Junction Az. Toronto Canada, Austin Texas and they all rode the scoots to the rally.
The road where there best twisted and bent and the speed was fast. Maggie the leader was direct " I ride Fast Keep Up" and " don't hit an armadillo they are like hitting a concrete Black.
On one evening we had a big rains storm that Jason and I needed to Take cover under a gas station roof but other then that it was cloudy and very little rain.

Thanks for sharing the story, Mike! Glad you both made it home safe and sound. How long of a ride was it down there?
