"What's the difference between Gasoline Rally and every other rally in North America? At other rallies, you don't get to ride on the f'ing Indy 500 track! In the past, we've had the opportunity to ride around the track, but this year we've partnered with the immortal Indianapolis Motor Speedway to create an rally that'll make your knees buckle. The 2011 Gasoline Rally will be held on August 26-28 in tandem with the Red Bull Indianapolis MotoGP. What does that mean, you ask? First and foremost, not only are we going to ride on the Indy 500 track, but the Moto GP course as well - DURING THE MOTO GP WEEKEND in front of a crowd of thousands! I just got off the phone with Red Roof Inn (where we stayed this past Gasoline Rally). We have a room for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights confirmed. If this really is Moto GP weekend I want to make sure we aren't looking for a place to stay at the last minute and then prices skyrocketing.

This should be an unbelievable event so I suggest you book a place to stay SOON. We are staying Sunday night as well because the MOTO GP race is on Sunday and will be a long day.

On the same weekend as MotoGP? That's going to be one crazy weekend!! Motorcycles on Meridian is great. JD and I rode down there one of the nights we were there. Hundreds of motorcycles everywhere. Very cool, but somewhat intimidating - my buddy never felt as small as it did that night. I'm curious to see what events the rally folks come up with. It'll be hard to choose between rally events and GP events. Staying an extra night may be a good idea.

Look for the big guy in a white shirt bending over in the upper right corner. That would be JD and I'm sitting right next to him also wearing a white shirt. Too funny to come across this as I was looking through GP photos from this year.
