Hey everybody. I was looking for a local scooter board and it looks like I've found it.

Picked up a '86 Honda Elite 150 Deluxe (CH150D) last winter as a commuter and started working on it recently. I was looking for a mid-80's Honda and found this one on craigslist; I was hoping to find a CH250, but there wasn't anything in my price range. And this one only had a little over 4k on the odometer.

This was the condition I got it in:

Sitting in the old garage next to my SV650, it wasn't really running when I got it. Rusty tank, gummed up carb and dragging front brake, but otherwise in decent shape.

Started the teardown last weekend, after about six hours, we had it to this point:

Figured out what I needed and ordered a bunch of parts (new bulbs, air filter, front brake and throttle cable, misc plastic bits like a replacement battery cover). I have a friend who is cleaning the carbs (the original and it came with a spare) and the gas tank for me. The nose of the scooter was filled with a mixture of old mouse and wasp nests. Some of the body panels are cracked, but that's to be expected on a 25 year old machine. The only one I really have to fix is the left engine cover since the signal mount is broken. There's also some suspicious electrical patches I need to investigate and redo, but still, mostly whole and complete.

Hopeful in a few weeks I'll get it back together and running again.

Hello to a fellow "Elitest". I'm so impressed with people that can take apart their bikes and fix them up. I could get it apart and that would be it. Anxious to see the finished product. Good luck!!

I have to admit, it's not a solo project.

A friend who is experienced with working on motorcycles and a factory service manual got it to this point. Taking apart is easy; it's the putting back together part that makes me nervous. I'm not sure if it's fortunate or not, but the bike came with a bunch of spare nuts/bolts/screws. We didn't really document the disassembly process all that well.

Elites are so ugly, they're cute. Ok, maybe not. They're just ugly. Hehe...
