All Things Racing and Track Riding

Postby Bonegirl » 02 Jul 2010, 10:06

I didn't want to start an entire new section for Racing so I'll start a thread just for this kind of stuff if that's OK with everyone. :)

Drag Racing Sunday, July 18th, 2010

Postby Bonegirl » 02 Jul 2010, 10:17

Now if your head isn't spinning, the next Drag Race will be Sunday, July18th in Brown County, Indiana. Very close to an area called "Little Nashville". So if you have family that likes to shop in a place like Gatlinburg, they'll love this. Let 'em loose while you run the 1/8 mile dragstrip.

I think Debbie is gonna' try this with us.

Let's go track riding!

Postby Bonegirl » 11 Jul 2010, 07:24

Me and Ben are heading up to the Centerville Track. It's pretty much straight up Montgomery Road (route 22/3). Looks like I'm riding alone. :( Ben will be going up with the trailer so we have all the stuff for bikes and am EZ-up and coolers and food and extra clothes...well, you get it. Have a good day if I don't see you guys up there. :D

Circleville Raceway Park

Postby Bonegirl » 11 Jul 2010, 19:22

Well, I had a blast at Camden's Track a month ago and this was even more fun. Obviously, the more you do the Tracks the better you become and today was just awesome! Just three scooters there but we rode the heck out of Circleville Track. Jeremy took a ton of pictures as well as his friend, John. Later, me and Ben took some pictures with his camera as we took turns cruising around. We did a scrimmage race that was recorded on video. 10 laps went FAST! So I'm home now and need a nap badly. Rode up to Circleville and met Ben and those guys there; he got there about 30 minutes before me but I stopped for gas and a couple pee breaks. I think the next one is in September. Anyway, it really is fun to cruise around the Tracks.

Oh, yeah!

Postby Bonegirl » 19 Jul 2010, 00:12

Can you say "1st Place"? I can! Long, long day today but that 1st Place trophy makes it all worth it. Thanks to Debbie for getting up at the crack of dawn and riding three hours to Nashville, IN with me and three hours back. I'm whipped but had a great day. This was so much fun, you guys! Pictures are on Facebook and I'll get some up here when I can.

Had fun watching the drag races. Cool stuff with the cars and scoots.
Congrats to Ang for coming in 1st place for her first race. Long ride in 1 day
but nice. Only about 20 or so miles from Bloomington, IN. I was getting good flashbacks from the nice Indy Rally
ride, :D

You should try this

Sarah, I bet you would love this. Even if you didn't join the NASRA, just racing all day is just too much fun. Ben has the dead man switch down to a science and Deb had an extra one so think about it!

If I had a second scoot this is what my SYM would look like if I was racing it! 8)

No 2nd scoot needed

That's what I like about Drag Racing...it's easy to do and you don't tear up your scooter. No need for a 2nd scooter! I don't need a second scooter for the Track Riding, either...just have to make sure I don't do anything stupid and lay the bike down!

BTW. Here's a write-up of the Race last Sunday. Well done by Jeremy Hall, NASRA President:
