Dear Scooter Friends,

The City of Mt. Healthy has asked us to sponsor a Movie Night during the Summer. A few of us talked about it this Spring at The Fish Fry.

I checked the City's Summer Calendar and the weekend of June 25th looks open.

I need to give them some feedback ASAP. All we would have to do is choose a movie and they would do the rest. It would be held in the Mt. Healthy Park inside the Pool area. I think it would be a blast if we all rode our scooters there.

Since it's outside, it would start at dark.

I think a good movie would be the first Tomb Raider.

Cool, or How about "Total Recall"?

We talked about everything from Blazing Saddles to Godzilla and Tomb Raider was good for the masses.

At first I liked Saturday better, then liked a Friday so I'm on the fence.

Saturday Tomb Raider

I am liking Saturday as well. I need to set it up with the Park. The guy that usually runs the movie will be out of town so he's gonna' show me and Ben what to do. They have the movies inside the pool area. We can't swim but it's a fun atmosphere.

We have 2 votes for Saturday so far and that may be the winner. Anyone else have an opinion of Friday or Saturday? We could ride beforehand or grab some dinner at the BluBlu Greek Restaurant in Mt. Healthy. Or just show up at dusk. It will be fun like always.

Good point. I couldn't think of any either until I googled "scooters in movies." Found this site: http://www.3dman.com/SMSC/movies_with_scooters.htm But I still don't see many movies on that list that fit into the "not a snorer" and "many would enjoy" categories. Intersting list though. You're on the right track just picking an enjoyable movie for many.

We could always show a few episodes of Scrubs with "Sasha" in them with a special guest cameo from "Sasha" herself!

I think I'll just go with Saturday, June 25th. I have to submit it to the City so it sounds good to me.

Just got off the phone with the Safety Service Director of Mt. Healthy. Scooter Cincinnati is officially sponsoring the Movie In The Park on Saturday, June 25th.

I would love to see a ton of scooters show up for this event. It would be fun for families to check them out prior to the movie.

Please feel free to invite any friends and family. Let me know if you have any questions. I may need help bagging popcorn prior to the event if anyone wants to help.

Movie: Tomb Raider (Rated PG)

Date: Saturday, June 25th at dusk

Location: Community Pool area of the City Park
behind City Hall (7700 Perry Street 45231)

Free admittance, free popcorn and free bottled water. The movie will be given away to a lucky winner at the end of the night.

P.S. Not a huge issue but I am working with the City to see if we can consume adult beverages that evening. I told them we can be discreet and have cans, not bottles. Heck, I have enough can huggies and cups to go around if necessary! Also could have alcohol consumed outside the fenced area of the pool and not inside if that was a concern. There is no swimming during the movie but they will have a lifeguard in duty. So someone is going to get back to me about it once it is discussed with the Mayor.

Today I heard from the City of Mt. Healthy and was told we could BYOB if we are discreet; i.e. cans, huggies, cups, you get the idea.

I also have my Gold Medal connection for the popcorn so we should have a ton of the stuff.

Called the Community Press to get more folks there as well.

Is an IV bottle discreet?

Dang, sounds like great fun but can't make this . We're camping in Pennsylvania that weekend.

Dave, just put your IV bottle in a cozy - you'll be good to go.
