This is a fun parade to ride to ride in. But we'll be out of town that weekend. Bummer.

I just read their Facebook, Is that $10 per scooter or $10 for all of us? Should we bring candy to throw to the kiddies or is it not that kind of parade? Do they make beer flavored popscicles? Are out-of-towners welcome (from the northside of Dayton, if that matters)?

This is the first time in many years that I am going to take a pass. The kids & I have other parade plans.

Dear Parader,

The Parade is just around the corner!

This email contains everything you need to know. Please be aware you are our point of contact for your whole group. We would appreciate if you pass this information along to anyone who will be marching/riding/skating/dancing with you. Please read this whole message- you're parade number is listed below.

Everything you need to know:

Please arrive at the staging lot between 10:00-11:00 on Monday, July 4th.

Parking for non parade vehicles

Because parking is limited in the staging lot we won't have any parking for vehicles that aren't IN the parade, however, we have arranged a shuttle from McKie Recreation Center (1655 Chase) to the staging lot at Ashtree and Hamilton.

McKie shuttle times:
A bus will be traveling between McKie Recreation Center (1665 Chase Ave) to the Staging lot on Hamilton Ave from 10 until 11:30am. No participants after 11:30 will be able to take the bus.

Staging Lot Set Up

When you arrive at the lot you must go directly toward the church into one of two lanes. At the end of the lane you will see a person with a clipboard. That person will give you your staging area letter and number in the parade. Go toward the staging area and see a volunteer to place you in the correct numerical order.

Parade Participant Rules
You may drop off people for your entry at the staging lot, then you must move your car, only vehicles in the parade may be in the staging lot
Bring sunscreen, water and food for your people and animals
There are no restrooms at the staging lot, please be prepared.
Clearly identify your entry for the judges to be considered for an award. Judges will be stationed at the Comet this year!
Do not throw items into the crowd or the street. You may bring items to the public on the curb.
Be considerate about causing large gaps in the parade – keep it going.
If you have an animal in your entry, you must pick up all poop, horses require bags on their rears.
We are doing everything we can to make this a green parade. Please pick up all trash in the staging lot before you leave for the parade route
