01-29-2011 Charity Event at Lakeside Vineyard and Winery

Unread postby Bonegirl » 20 Jan 2011, 19:04

A few of us have visited this Vineyard in Felicity more than a few times on our scooters! I will not name names to protect the innocent!

Anyway, I am on their mailing list and they have several events throughout the year and some of them are for charitable causes, as is this upcoming one. I plan on attending and have heard a few other people who are also interested in going. Lakeside Vineyard is in Felicity, Ohio. The owners, Tim and Linda, are very fun and friendly people. Bottles of wine are inexpensive and wonderfully tasteful! :D

Southern Ohio Farmland Preservation Association Fundraiser

On Saturday, January 29, the Southern Ohio Farmland Preservation Association (SOFPA)
will be hosting a fundraiser at the winery. The evening of fun, friends, music and wine will
begin at 4:00 p.m. For each $10 donation you will be given a SOFPA wineglass and tickets
for a tasting tray of 12 samples of wine or 2 glasses of wine. A variety of finger foods will also
be available. During the evening a gift basket of wines and cheeses will be given away.

For more information, contact SOFPA President Jerry Schwallie at 937-446-2904.

A few questions - do we have any idea how long the event will be, as in 4pm until ? and if it ends around 6pm or so does anyone plan on getting dinner afterwards?

The winery is a little less than 2 hour drive for us so I was just curious ... I've always been curious about the german resturant in cincy if anyone wants to chase their wine with some beer. :D

The Event is as long as you want to stay there. Where is it you want to eat?

I'd like to go to the Hofbrauhaus, only because I've heard good things about it. And it looks like they have live music kicking off at 9pm.

Maybe

Hofbrauhaus can be fun, especially in the summer out on the patio, but it will be really crowded on a Saturday night and parking will be expensive.

Personally, I think I want to go to the Winery and play it by ear without committing to something else that night.

Debbie, Dave and Lori are probably in so far....

Answers to your questions:

1) We can visit the Feedmill regardless of whether they run out of wine!
2) They can run out of wine with us there, for sure!

Here is where we are at the moment. ScooterCincinnati attendees so far are:

Angie and Ben
Lori and Dave
Debbie
Jimmy

This should get Mike's attention. We are meeting at The FeedMill Restaurant in Felicity at 4pm tomorrow (Saturday)

Then we will head over to the Winery (around the corner).

Hope more of you can join us!
